Terms and Conditions

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and Basely Technologies Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales ("Basely", "we", "us"). By creating an account or accessing the Basely platform you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you are accessing Basely on behalf of an employer or company, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

Business-to-business service. Employer customers purchase Basely in the course of business. Where UK consumer protection legislation (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 Part 1 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013) applies only to consumers, it does not apply to an employer's purchase of Basely, and these Terms (together with our Refund Policy) govern instead. Nothing in this clause affects any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded for business customers.

These Terms are effective as of 1 October 2026 and supersede all previous versions. Material changes are notified in advance under section 12.

Basely provides: Basely Connect — an AI-powered talent matching network for candidates and employers; ContainerView — a Docker-sandboxed technical assessment IDE with AI grading; and Basely SSO — centralised authentication and billing management.

We provide recommendations and scores based on available data but do not guarantee employment outcomes, assessment pass/fail outcomes, or specific business results.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Basely. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at security@basely.co.uk of any unauthorised access.

As a candidate you agree to: provide accurate information on your profile, resume, and GitHub data; not impersonate another person or submit fabricated credentials; comply with the AI usage policy configured on each assessment (which may range from AI-encouraged to a strict "no AI" lockdown mode) — using AI tools when an assessment is marked "no AI" is a breach of these Terms and may result in disqualification; not share, publish, or distribute assessment questions, hidden test cases, or other assessment content to any third party or public forum; not submit malicious code, malware, or code intended to compromise the ContainerView sandbox or Basely's systems; not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract platform data.

As an employer you agree to: post only genuine roles with accurate descriptions; use candidate data solely for the stated recruitment purpose; not discriminate unlawfully in selection; comply with the UK Equality Act 2010 and applicable employment law; not share candidate data outside your organisation without consent.

Employers act as independent data controllers for candidate data they access via Basely. You are responsible for your own GDPR compliance regarding that data.

Basely offers three paid tiers: Starter (£169/month), Professional (£349/month), and Enterprise (custom pricing — contact sales). Plans are billed via Stripe. Prices are listed in GBP exclusive of VAT, which is added where applicable. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date via the billing portal.

Where payment fails or a card is declined, Stripe will retry the charge on a standard retry schedule; access to paid features may be suspended if payment is not resolved within the retry window. We will notify you by email of any failed payment.

Starter and Professional plans include a 60-day free trial that begins at sign-up. No payment card is required to start the trial and none is collected while it runs. The trial does not convert automatically: at the end of the 60 days, access to paid features ends and no charge is taken. Billing begins only when you choose a paid plan and provide payment details. Each customer is eligible for one trial only. Enterprise plans do not include a trial: they are billed immediately on activation and are available only through admin provisioning or a sales quote, not through self-serve checkout.

To keep the trial offer to one per customer, we keep a record of every trial that has been started — see section 11 of our Privacy Policy for what that record contains. If you have already started a trial on this account, or the domain of your sign-up address has already been used for a trial, starting another will not succeed. Where a trial is declined we may begin billing immediately; your subscription still starts and you can use it straight away.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account billing settings, or by contacting support@basely.co.uk. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you retain access until then and will not be billed again afterwards. Basely does not offer refunds for amounts already billed. Nothing in these Terms affects the statutory rights of anyone dealing with Basely as a consumer under UK law. See our Cancellation & Billing Policy for details.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscriptions are unaffected until their next renewal.

Seat and usage limits apply per plan: Starter includes 1 recruiter seat and 3 active job posts; Professional includes 3 recruiter seats and 10 active job posts; Enterprise plans have no fixed seat or job post limits. Exceeding your plan's limits requires an upgrade.

Basely, its platform, AI logic, brand assets, design language, and proprietary algorithms are owned by Basely Technologies Ltd and protected by UK and international intellectual property law.

You retain ownership of content you create (your resume, your code, your company data), including any background skills, techniques, general coding style, and know-how you bring to or develop during an assessment. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your general skills or pre-existing code to Basely or any employer.

Candidate code submissions. As between you and Basely, you (the candidate) retain ownership of the code you submit during an assessment. By submitting code to Basely you grant (a) Basely a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, execute, and display that code solely to provide and improve the assessment service (including using anonymised, aggregated submissions to improve our AI grading models), and (b) the hiring employer who commissioned the assessment a non-exclusive licence to view, store, and evaluate your submission solely for the purposes of that recruitment process. Neither Basely nor the employer may use your submitted code for any commercial or production purpose outside the hiring process without your separate, explicit consent.

You must not use Basely to: transmit malware or malicious code; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform; harvest or scrape data without permission; send unsolicited commercial communications; circumvent rate limits or access controls; use the platform in a way that violates applicable law.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts in breach of these Terms without notice.

Match scores, assessment feedback, AI-effectiveness scores, and skill verifications are generated by AI and are provided for informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice and should not be the sole basis for hiring or employment decisions. The final hiring decision is always made by the employer, a human decision-maker; Basely does not make hiring decisions. Candidates who believe an AI-generated score is inaccurate may contact privacy@basely.co.uk to request a review of the underlying scoring inputs.

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, Basely's total liability to you shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) £100.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages; loss of profits; or loss of data. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. If you are a consumer in the EEA, you may also rely on the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

We encourage resolving disputes informally first. Contact legal@basely.co.uk. If unresolved, disputes may be referred to the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) before litigation.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email and in-platform notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance. The current version is always at basely.co.uk/terms.
